What are the benefits of cheek filler?

Cheek fillers restore volume to the cheek area to create defined, projected cheek bones. They can also restore volume which has been reduced by ageing or weight loss. Cheek fillers can also minimally help lift the nasolabial fold area (corners of the mouth to nose). The degree of result depends on how much dermal filler you have; normally your cheekbones will instantly look more prominent and face more defined.

Does cheek filler hurt?

Not really. We will normally apply a topical numbing cream to the skin. Also, the dermal filler we use (Juvéderm®) has a built-in anaesthetic, which makes this procedure relatively painless.

Are cheek fillers permanent?

Accepted Answer

No – cheek dermal filler will dissolve itself over time. Also, the dermal filler we use can be dissolved using hyaluronidase.

Will I experience side effects with cheek fillers?

Accepted Answer

Most side effects are mild and temporary, e.g. redness, pain and swelling.

Question 5

Do I need to follow any after care?

• Refrain from touching or rubbing the filled area for 12 hours after treatment
 • Do not apply makeup or creams to the area for 12 hours
 • Do not exercise for 12 hours after cheek filler
 • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours after treatment  
 • Avoid blood thinning medication for 24 hours after treatment (do not stop any prescription medication - this will be discussed at your consultation)
 • Sleep with 2 or 3 pillows overnight after your treatment to reduce swelling
